Increase the security of windows server 2003 with the internal firewall

If you are using a dedicated server for your website then you have to be sure to have knowledge of security, to prevent any criminal to abuse your server / data.

In my case using a windows server 2003, i connect to the server with the Remote desktop to a particular port. To better increase the security and to prevent brute forcing on your password you can specify in the firewall to accept connections only from particular ip, maybe your static connection ip of the office, so no one outside this ip can try to enter your server from that port.

remember to have more than one door to open your server in case your ip down for maintenence or potential problems, so specify 2 or more ips or ip classes if you are travelling a lot.

If you have a linux server or you want to learn to improove server security you can visit a source of fully 100% trustable advice  http://www.kriyayoga.com/love_blog/topic.php/4

To do this basic operation simply follow the screenshot ;-) and you have a much more secure server
